Songwriters’ night vol III STINKA
STINKA is a music project headed by Czech musician and writer Hana Lundiaková. Her energetic way of playing the accordion together with her rich alto to contralto voice which penetrates into the marrow of one’s bones as well as her adamant lyrics, belong to her most distinguishing traits. Stinka’s punk chansons, which produce an unnerving echo of rock, post-rock, blues, rap and even freak folk, are capable of evoking the atmosphere of a shamanic ritual or hell’s orchestra. Stinka touches on what is primordial in a human being while commenting on the current tragicomedy of today’s world. She revels in polyphony and enjoys interweaving poetic passages with fierce choruses which oscillate on the verge noise. She mixes tenderness with rage and her songs reverberate with echoes of composers such as Zdeněk Liška, Ennio Morricone, Philip Glass, John Cale, Nick Cave hand in hand with the relentlessness of The Ramones or The Ex. Stinka has recently surrounded herself with a new trio of experienced musicians with whom she’s working on the new album Neviňátko. Her previous albums Krrrva! and Bído, čau… should provide ample evidence that there’s a lot to look forward to.
