This conference aims to explore the diverse approaches to mortuary data, fostering discussions on both theoretical perspectives and methodological innovations in the study of death, burial, and the afterlife in the ancient world. More specifically, we aim to explore three key aspects of death: the moment of death and preceding life, the act of burial, and conceptions of the afterlife.
