The Wombat Live Sessions 2025 project at Kampus Hybernská builds on the successful format of audiovisual live concert recordings that has been enriching the Czech music scene since 2018, and this year, for the first time in its history, it is expanding to include concerts open to the public.
At the end of October, the music curators at Kampus Hybernská presented the first of two live concerts, which was preceded by recordings in unusual locations around the campus. It featured Arleta together with yeezuz2020.
The first video sessions, a collaboration between Studio Mr. Wombat and Kampus Hybernská, were released on October 20, 2025, and were filmed with Arleta, who performed several tracks from her country-rap album TOXIC RODEO in a very unique location at Kampus.
Arleta is one of the most prominent figures in the female rap scene. A rapper and visual artist nominated for both Vinyla and Apollo awards, she brings a dark vision that is personal and self-therapeutic, yet playful and hot. Contrasting with generic masculine rap, she uses her unmistakable dark delivery to weave powerful contemporary generational themes into her lyrics and comment on social taboos.
She is known for her collaborations with artists such as Hugo Toxxx, BADBOY BERLIN, YEEZUZ2020, Fvck Kvlt, Rohony, Edúv syn, and David Koller. Instrumentally, she works primarily with MDMX or David Herzig.
She performs actively in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary (Colours of Ostrava, Metronome Prague, BUSH, Transforma, and many others). Her live performances include supporting acts for Denzel Curry, Sega Bodega, Elliphant, and Gaika. In March 2026, she is planning a performance at the Bohemian Music Hall in New York. She has just released her debut album Toxic Rodeo.
The second concert will take place on December 20 and will feature the Czech indie folk band originally from Pilsen Ida the Young together with Jakub Šimanský. It will be preceded by December 1st the release of a video session in which the five-piece band Ida the Young will present their debut album, which they will also perform live in the E.0 Sál of Kampus Hybernská.
Ida the Young stands out for its intimate, direct vocals and captivating lyrics, as well as its colourful instrumentation, in which they are not afraid to blend genres. In 2025, following several singles, they are releasing their debut full-length album Tell Me When You Pass The Sun. On the new record, they aim to both bridge the various styles they explored on previous recordings and capture the energy of their current lineup.
The music of guitarist Jakub Šimanský is largely defined not only by his unique approach to playing, variety in tuning and rhythm, but also by a sense for strong melodies, drawing on the traditions of Czech folk and Eastern music. In the spring of 2025, after more than five years, Jakub released a new album titled “What Do You Mean By That?”. This third album is once again an invitation to a world without clear genre boundaries, where various styles and experimental approaches intersect with acoustic instruments. Each track is a small story assembled from the past, with no message other than to create a musical world where you can let yourself be carried away by the music itself.

The goal is to showcase a wide range of contemporary alternative music genres—from hip hop and folk to electronica—and to provide a platform for both established bands and emerging talent.
Two planned sessions in 2025 will connect musicians with young creators in the fields of directing, set design, and lighting design, resulting in unique audiovisual works that help promote Czech bands both at home and abroad.
