This lecture series, hosted by HYB4 Galerie to mark the 170th anniversary of the renowned psychoanalyst's birth, will feature experts in psychoanalytic therapy as well as specialists in the visual arts.
Sigmund Freud introduced fundamental concepts to modern society that transformed our understanding of the human mind and behavior. He developed a psychotherapeutic method based on patient free association, the transference relationship, and the interpretation of speech, dreams, and emotions.
His discoveries, described through his structural and topographical models, were essential to understanding the human psyche, particularly his concept of "psychic reality"—a simple way to describe the complex inner world of the individual. Freud influenced not only psychology but also art, literature, philosophy, and our overall thinking about human nature and behavior. He shed light on the unconscious processes that shape our daily lives and our perception of the reality in which we move.

Individual lectures will take place between March 17 and April 28, always starting at 6:30 PM in the A.0 Circulární Hub at Kampus Hybernská. The series was curated and will be hosted by Kamila Ženatá.
