A lecture by Michael Ranney, Fullbright specialist &UC Berkeley Professor, to broader audiences (academic andnon-academic) will focus on how to address polarization and reach consensus surrounding environmental concerns through science communication.
The workshop will address how attitudes become (or became) asymmetrical across societal subgroups (i.e., polarized) and how to explore strategies that may be informative in non-polarizing (or even polarization-reducing) ways.
