Opening of the exhibition Barbora Lepší: Ugly in C.0 HYB4 Galerie will take place from 6pm in Zadní dvorek (Backyard).

For the HYB4 Galerie, Barbora Lepší has created a site-specific series of monumental abstract paintings that directly respond to the exhibition space while continuing her long-standing exploration of expression.

These works are grounded in confident gestural execution, spontaneity, and a precise sensitivity to both composition and color. The presentation is intentional and refined, amplifying the emotional charge embedded in each piece. Speed, rhythm, and the physical act of painting are essential to Lepší’s process, resulting in a visual language that is deeply personal yet powerfully communicative.

Her paintings possess an immediate strength. Although they do not convey a literal message, they hold depth, authenticity, and a lasting impact—qualities that allow them to stand firmly within the competitive field of contemporary art.

Barbora currently lives and works in Berlin, a city that she describes as intense, fast-paced, and raw. It serves as a source of inspiration, while also demanding resilience and unwavering focus. This exhibition is a testament to her commitment and artistic clarity.
