Art therapy is a non-verbal therapeutic modality that serves as a means of expression, relaxation, and emotional exploration. For many of us, the last time we engaged in creating art was years ago, often during our school years, after which we gradually stopped connecting with our creative side. However, art therapy does not require one to be an artist or strive for perfection — it simply invites us to let our creativity flow freely and express ourselves on the canvas in our own unique way. This art gallery aims to honour those living with mental health struggles while offering insight into how art can serve as an act of resistance, a tool for self-expression, or simply a source of comfort and relaxation. The works and materials featured in this gallery were generously donated by the Military Hospital in Prague 6, National Institute of Mental Health of the Czech Republic (including donations from the Art Therapy Project in Drohobych prison, Ukraine), and independent artists. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to highlight the importance of art and its therapeutic value through these contributions, and we implore you to delve into artistic expression.
You can find us at Kampus Hybernská in the corridors of Building B.
