Since 2009, an expedition of the National Museum of the Czech Republic has been exploring the Archaeological Site of Wad Ben Naga in the Republic of the Sudan, which contains the remains of monumental buildings commissioned by Queen Amanishakhete, King Natakamani, and Queen Amanitore, who ruled the Kingdom of Meroe around the turn of the eras. The lecture will focus primarily on buildings associated with Queen Regnant Amanishakhete, especially the so-called Isis Temple and its interpretation.
