The Cocktail Network Event featuring Hong Kong-based artists Jive Lau Ho-Fai and Mari Liew Yu-Lin offers an opportunity for an informal gathering with the artists and for the Prague and Hong Kong art communities to connect. The event will take place as part of the Prague Art Week program. As part of the festival, their studio will be open to the public as an Open Studio from September 24–27, 2026.

You can find more information about the Prague Art Week program at Kampus Hybernská here.

Both artists will be residents at HYB4 Galerie from mid-September through the end of October, and during their residency they will develop new projects inspired by the Prague environment and a dialogue with the local art scene.

About artists:

Jive Lau Ho-fai is the founder of the neon studio Kowloneon, which combines the traditional craft of Hong Kong neon signs with design and contemporary art. Before dedicating himself fully to neon, he worked as a multimedia designer; he learned the craft of bending and blowing neon glass from an experienced master in Taiwan. In his work, he transforms neon from a purely commercial medium into an artistic language that references the cultural and visual identity of Hong Kong. He collaborates with brands and cultural institutions and leads workshops and an apprenticeship program to pass the craft on to the next generation. His work has been featured in the South China Morning Post and CNN, among others.

Mari Liew Yu-Lin is a Hong Kong visual artist and painter whose work draws from dreams and travel experiences, telling stories that blur the line between fantasy and reality. She studied Fine Arts at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, UK. She has extensive experience in curatorial work and public art education; since 2004, she has exhibited in over twenty group exhibitions and has collaborated as an external decorator with brands such as Chanel, Cartier, and the Hong Kong Ballet.

More information about the residency can be found on the Kampus Hybernská website. You can follow the latest news from Kampus on Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn.
