Prague Art Week at HYB4 Gallery: Vladimír Houdek’s Third Landscape and Open Studio with Hong Kong residents

A new exhibition by Vladimír Houdek, The Third Landscape, presents a series of paintings in which the artist’s long-term work with abstraction opens up to the figure. A lonely wanderer with a head transformed into a cosmic body moves between the past, the present, and visions of the future. Here, Houdek connects the romantic experience of the sublime with inspirations from Impressionism and Pointillism, translating them into his characteristic painterly language. The Third Landscape opens a space between reality and imagination, finitude and infinity.

Concurrent with the exhibition, Hong Kong artists Jive Lau Ho-Fai and Mari Liew Yu-Lin, who are in residence at Kampus Hybernská from mid-September to the end of October 2026 in collaboration with the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong and Macau, will open their studio to the public. Jive Lau focuses on the traditional Hong Kong neon craft, while Mari Liew Yu-Lin works primarily with drawing and watercolor. Visitors will have the opportunity to get a direct look at their creative process and the projects emerging in dialogue with the Prague environment.

The program is complemented by two accompanying events. On September 26, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, there will be a guided tour of the exhibition with Vladimír Houdek and curator Filip Kazda, immediately followed, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, by a Cocktail Networking Event with the Hong Kong artists in residence, offering an opportunity for an informal meeting with the artists and a chance to connect the Prague and Hong Kong art communities.
