Marina is a Brazilian synchronized diving athlete. At the height of her career, she fell victim to a serious accident caused by a terrifying attack of TINNITUS, a hearing disease. Four years later, Marina works at the aquarium dressed as a mermaid. Her new daily routine revolves around this exotic environment, away from the spotlights and from the trauma of a condition for which she is still in treatment. Teresa is the athlete who replaced Marina on the synchronized diving team. A rising star and unconditional fan of her predecessor. Teresa offers Marina to help her train ahead of the Tokyo Games. This unexpected invitation rekindles Marina’s desire to dive again, as she faces the most disturbing of all adversaries: her TINNITUS. The frightening condition that once robbed her athletic identity and affected the confidence in her own body.
